  When was your last Kingdom Hall meeting?

  i stopped going to kingdom hall meetings about nine years ago.

  i was fading for the longest time, refused to go out in field service, dropped out of the ministry school talks, no longer answered at the watchtower study, arrived at the meetings the last second, and left as soon as possible.

  i couldn't take attending the meetings any longer.

  It was a sunday public talk at a circuit assembly in my home town. I agreed to go with my born in wife to stop her nagging. autumn 1980. Later that evening we went for a meal with a married JW couple we were friends with.

  Unexpected outcome---this led to me having an affaire with the married sis.

  Nag and i separated in new year 1981 and divorced the same year. By then i was living with the other woman. It didnt last. But at least it severed any last remaining ties to the cult i grew up in and came to hate.

  my soon to be ex moved out over a year ago.

  he left most of his things here ( i guess he thinks of my house as his personal storage unit).

  one thing he left was his survival backpack, i assume his "go bag".

  JW Net and Politics

  this site was and remains instrumental in assisting people that want to leave the jw's.. there has been political discussion here for some time now, a good couple of years and it makes me feel a little uneasy.

  i just opened up the site for the first time in some weeks, of the 10 posts being discussed, 4 were by the same poster, about politics, promoting their right wing beliefs.. this has been the trend for some time now, the same name behind a peppering of posts stirring the right v left of politics.. i remain forever grateful to the site and it's founders simon & angharad, i appreciate that simon shares some of these these political beliefs.

  it would be a shame to see the site evolve from a place for jw freedom of thought and escape, to political squabbling, that the world is frankly tired of right now.. just to clarify, politics is my hobby, whilst my friends read the football scores, i'm reading polling data.

  American politics holds zero interedt for me...so thats most of this site ignored. UK politics even less.

  I do read human interest threads...leaving the cult etc.

  hi friends i`ve finally got an appointment to go to hospital tomorrow ,pre-admission for my hip replacement surgery.. so if you don`t hear from me ever again ,it means i`ve carked it .lol, should i even joke about that ?.

  "John Doe wants to be your friend" (Facebook) He died 2 1/2 years ago!

  i just joined a few days ago and the topic is true.

  john (not his real name) is my wife's nephew and got killed in a road accident 2 1/2 years ago.. i've therefore come to the conclusion that most folks wanting me to be their friend are simply a computer algorithm, that my feeling bad by not answering their plea would hurt their feelings and risk our friendship, is not founded on reality.. on another topic, one question that i have is: if i search for a person on facebook does that person somehow learn that i did a search for him?.

  my son, who is a facebook expert, of sorts, says no.. what say you?.

  Your concerns, Stan, have been my concerns as well. Sorry about that cousin of yours.

  actually--he had 10 extra years of life--he suffered from a serious heart condition--ending up with a heart / lung transplant at Papworth Hospital UK

  in that extra 10 years--he re-married and returned to work.

  Just a pity we didnt meet up in person since his childhood.

  i had been concerned about people knowing i had done a facebook search for them..people i knew many years before: but if they do find out--they can approach me if they want to.

  one embarrassing thing happened a few months back:

  a birthday notification appeared on my fbook--a cousin i hadnt seen since his childood--we occasionally chatted on fbook. I wished him a happy birthday. His older brother ( my age ) replied that he had died the previous year. I never knew.
